What industry/industries are you in, and what services do you provide?
We are a civil engineering transportation design firm that specializes in planning, design, and management services focusing solely on public transportation projects.
What is unique about your business?
We are a small but mighty firm. We currently have 20 team members in two locations, but we are working on some of the largest and most complex transportation design projects in Texas. TEG also has a hybrid work schedule to offer a better work/life balance for our team. We take pride in being lean, competitive, and flexible!
What made you choose Innovation WorkSpaces, and what do you enjoy most about working here?
We needed a place to host other consultants for meetings and interview prep for the contracts we chase while our permanent location is under construction. Innovation WorkSpaces was the only place we toured that felt very professional and inviting. It is so nice to have a variety of sizes of conference rooms for different types of meetings that we have as a company. We love working with Valerie each day and we really enjoy the snacks and dedicated spaces for work, play, and community. Our team is a big fan of the ping pong table for breaks during the day!
What is the piece of advice that has had the greatest impact on you and/or your company?
Stay true to who you are and what you’re good at and hire great people and treat them well.
What is your favorite app that you have been using lately for business or personal?
For business: Microsoft Teams app helps us all stay connected wherever we are. It’s not always business chat, but it helps us feel connected when working from home or connecting between our two offices.
Personal: It’s a toss up between the Spotify app and the Podcast app. We always have some type of music playing at home or podcasts in our ears while in the car or doing stuff around the house.
